M & S Schmalberg Flowers are American Made. We are proud to have kept our production domestic while so many others went off-shore. Recently we were asked by NYC & Company and NYCEDC to make a short video about what it means for us to be New Yorkers during this crazy time. Specially, why we are “All in on New York City.”
I have always been proud to be a New Yorker. This melting pot of a city is like no other. Every day I take the train to work and ride along side people of different races, religions and ethnicities. This melange of people is such a part of New York culture that we don’t even think about it. Because of this mix, New Yorkers are some of the most loving and accepting people you’ll ever meet. Just like they portray us on TV!=)
During the height of the pandemic in NYC, over 50,000 healthcare workers, including retirees and students volunteered to work as part of the New York State surge healthcare force. These heroes selflessly put themselves on the front lines. People everywhere stepped up and contributed in whatever way they could. New Yorkers stood together, even while remaining 6 feet apart. Now that other states are experiencing their own surges we have been there to lend a helping hand.
M&S Schmalberg Flower have been hand-made in the New York City garment district for over 100 years. The covid-19 pandemic has caused a lot of change in the city and I know many people are rethinking where they want to be. For us their is no question, we are all in on New York!
